Since I was a child I can perfectly picture my father having breakfast every morning and reading the newspaper, then my mom would wake up and would start reading the sections that my father has already read. If we were waiting in the doctors office for example my mom would me reading a magazine and every night before the y went to bed each one of them read a little from the book they were at that moment. Reading this article caught me thinking about the images I just described and how these things the three most common forms of reading are being replaced and all by the internet. Every newspaper has a webpage, every magazine a website, and you can books online.
As technology advance so do the people, we stop doing things the old fashioned way as do it how it’s being done now, today. I take my chances to say that today people my age and even older depend on the internet, imagine a day without internet when the first thing we do when we get home is turn on our computer and engage in new forms of communication the internet has created such as blogs as Sarah Boxer said “A blog, for those who don't know, is a journal or log that appears on a Web site. It is written on line, read on line, and updated on line.” All of it has to with the internet. If we compare to a book we end up with this “Books are tight. Blogs are reckless. Books are slow. Blogs are fast. Books ask you to stay between their covers. Blogs invite you to stray. Books fret over copyright and libel. Blogs grab whatever they want with impunity—news, gossip, pictures, videos.”
By reading just that sentence we are able to see how far more interesting blogs are for the younger readers since first they are online and second of all as Sarah Boxer said “Blog readers jump around. They follow links. They move from blogs to news clips to videos on YouTube, and they do it more easily than you can turn a newspaper page”. The fact that blogs allow you to experience new things and from one topic get to another and see various perspectives and point of view makes it attractive to people since they can learn more and will be able to even add their own opinion. Apart from reading things that interest you, you are also learning about knew things, different ways to see one topic and even communicating with other people.
